This flowering succulent is native to Sri Lanka and other Indian subcontinent countries. It is considered to be one of the most stunning flowers in the world, as it is known to bloom only at night. It has a very short lifespan and is also quite rare to find.

2. Juliet Rose

Cost: $5M

The actual cost of the flower is around $50-$60 but what makes it grab the second spot on this list is the cost that its developer has incurred while developing it, which stands at a hefty $5 million and took 15 long years to create! It was first showcased at the Chelsea flower show in 2006.

3. 250 Year Old Juniper Bonsai Tree

Cost: $2M

A 250-year-old Juniper Bonsai Tree was sold for a whopping $2,000,000 US dollars in 1981. However, its actual photograph is yet to be found.

4. 800 Years-Old Bonsai Tree

Cost: $1.3M

In 2011, this miniature white pine tree was sold for a crazy $1.3 million in Japan at the International Bonsai Convention. This tree was most valued for its history and age.

5. The Shenzhen Nongke Orchid

Cost: $200,000

Scientists worked for more than 8 years to develop this flower. This variety is very rare and takes about 4-5 years to bloom.

6. Obliqua Monstera

Cost: $23K

A bidder paid $23,000 for the Large Monstera Obliqua plant, which is also referred to as the ‘More Hole than Leaf’ plant. Most listings are mostly a scam as sellers try to pass it off as the more common Monstera Adansonii.

7. Variegated Monstera Minima

Cost: $19,000

New Zealand’s auction website Trade Me sold this variegated Philodendron Minima at a hefty price. The basic price for a regular one could be anywhere between $50-100, but it’s rare to find.

8. Hindu Rope Plant

Cost: $6,500

Hoya Carnosa Compacta ‘Hindu Rope’ was sold for $6,500 by a member on New Zealand’s trading website Trade Me in 2020.

9. Pink Princess Philodendron

Cost: $1999

Half Moon Philodendron Pink Princess was also named the ‘2019’s Must-Have Plant’ by Horticulture Week. The plant was sold for a cool $1,999.95 on ETSY.

10. Monstera Thai Constellation

Cost: $300-$500

The stunning white and green variegation of this plant makes it stand out from the rest of the varieties. You will have to shell out anywhere between $300-$500 to get it.
